Since the early '90s, LASSE MARHAUG (b. 1974) has been one of the most active artists in the so-called Norwegian noise scene. As a performer and composer, he has contributed to well over 200 CD, vinyl, and cassette releases over the years. He has also toured and performed live in Europe, Asia, and America. In addition to his solo work, Marhaug plays regularly in projects Jazkamer, Nash Kontroll, DEL, and Testicle Hazard. Past projects and bands include Origami Replika and Lasse Marhaug Band. He has collaborated with several artists in the fields of noise, experimental, improv, jazz, rock, and extreme metal, as well as working with music and sound for theater, dance, installations and video. Although he works with instrumentation from guitar pedals and homemade electronics to computers and modified guitars, he considers the mixing board his main instrument. Marhaug was
born in the northern regions above the Arctic Circle of Norway, but currently lives and works in Oslo.
JOHN WIESE is a solo artist and serial collaborator from Los Angeles, California. He has worked with many artists as diverse as Sunn O))), Wolf Eyes, and Merzbow and in ongoing units such as LHD and Sissy Spacek. He has toured and performed across the US, Europe, UK, Scandinavia, Australia, Greece, Japan, and Canada.
GERRITT is a noise artist hailing from Oakland, California. His work often involves theatrical uses of intense lighting and body performance to augment the fury of noise from his machines. He has performed and recorded as Ginnungagap (with Stephen O'Malley and Tim Wyskida), Deathroes, Sunn O))), Sissy Spacek, and with John Wiese and Paul Knowles. Gerritt runs the acclaimed publishing house Misanthropic Agenda.
This performance marks Lasse Marhaug's debut performance in San Francisco.

23five Incorporated is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development and increased awareness of sound works in the public arena, and to the support and education of artists working with and discussing the medium of sound. Sound works are defined as artistic endeavors primarily concerned with the use of sound, but fall outside of what is normally considered "music." This includes but is not limited to: recordings, radio transmissions, performances, installations, sound sculpture, site specific public art, and new media arts.
