Join Kirk Stoller for an evening critique group at The LAB. Participants will bring recent artwork to be reviewed; Stoller will facilitate a discussion with the group. Each artist should bring representative samples of their current body of work. The critique is intended to help artists gain insight into how their work engages viewers and to discuss questions regarding specific issues with their work. Participating artists should be be prepared to show approximately 5 minutes worth of material and to speak briefly about their work. All media is welcome; original art is best, large scale and media work can be presented on DVD, slides or CD.

Kirk Stoller is a working artist, teacher, and member of The Lab's Programming Committee. He received his MFA from UC Berkeley in 2004 and has exhibited in various galleries around the United States. Stoller has taught at UC Berkeley and City College of San Francisco, and recently completed an affiliate residency at the Headlands Center for the Arts. Stoller's work generally consists of found object sculptures, made from collected materials that are deconstructed and reassembled to arrive at different meanings. By maintaining a presence both on the wall and the floor, his forms straddle the space between two and three-dimensional planes.
