The Wicked Engine of Connected Desire: an unsurpassed antidote for chronic disconnection is part of Corey Hitchcock’s larger investigations into our relationship with reality. Her unique “engines” are three-dimensional drawings which have come to life as whimsical, gently moving contraptions made of cardboard, paper, bits of salvage, and hardware. The Wicked Engine of Connected Desire will emphasize hand-made imperfection and simple dreamlike function as an antidote to the manufactured material world. Sound, video, and enlarged blueprint drawings will enhance this immersive sculptural installation. Described by Hitchcock as “a complex cell of connected reality”, the Wicked Engine takes on forces of disconnection. Culminating in an experiential finale, local actors, performers, and audience members will activate the Wicked Engine’s potent blend of visual art, performance and Connected Desire.
