The LAB is pleased to present the work of Adam Ansell and the Gray Area Ensemble (formerly Electra Theater Company) with their latest project, 10 Lanes Pizza Bowl. In this unique performance, The LAB will be transformed into a bowling alley whose owner smells like pepperoni, his champion bowler girlfriend is redolent of lane wax, and the resident teen video game player is dripping with ointments for his rash. Audience members, if they so dare, will be initiated into Gray Area’s extreme underground bowling pizza cult!

The original play, 10 Lanes Pizza Bowl, is created and performed by fifteen members of the Gray Area Theater Company. These performances will imaginatively incorporate the ensemble's life experiences and legacies. The script was generated by the ensemble cast using round-robin exquisite corpse language exercises, and then methodically collaged together by director Adam Ansell into new language that challenges conventional ideas of authorship and narrative. Gray Area's mission is to produce a community theater arts program that is comprised of disabled and homeless persons of all cultures, ages and genders. Adam Ansell's goal as the director is to create a poetic, painterly experimental performance art piece made by and for an audience that is most often overlooked in the arts.

10 Lanes Pizza Bowl is generously funded by the Potrero Nuevo Fund, vanLobenSels/RembeRock Foundation, and the Puffin Foundation.
