This three-day festival will celebrate experimental poetry in an array of hybrid guises. Aside from innovative poetry of all kinds the festival will present film, dance and music which veer into a linguistic realm. A variety of local and visiting poets, dancers and musicians will come together to explore poetry’s multidimensional possibilities in an atmosphere of boisterous festivity. Events will include a surrealist play from Diane di Prima, the improv antics of Edwin Torres and KJ Holmes, a duet with pre-recorded tape from Charles Amirkhanian, sound poetry DJing by Tony Coulter, dance performances curated by Julie Carr and a selection of short films curated by Konrad Steiner. The film segments will feature work by Abigail Child, Hollis Frampton, Su Friedrich, Gary Hill and Anne Waldman and many others. Poets and performers will include Laynie Brown, David Buuck, Ray Chung, Brenda Coultas, Jean Day, Stacy Doris, kari edwards, Roxi Hamilton, Kevin Killian, M. Mara-Ann, Beth Murray, David Meltzer, Hoa Nguyen, Linda Norton, Randee Paufue, Dale Smith, Juliana Spahr, Claudia Rankine, Elizabeth Robinson, Jerome Rothenberg, Shelley Senter and Heriberto Yepez.
