The LAB will host a special expanded edition of BUILD’s Geek-tique 3, an eccentric collector’s expo. This unique sharing event is a large-scale community "show and tell" where the public is invited to bring a selection of their most personal and treasured collections to be displayed in a highly stylized venue. Collections are available to be viewed and discussed informally by their owners and attendees. No collection is too strange! Geek-tique is modeled in part on the PBS series The Antiques Roadshow; walk-in collections and special pre-curated collections will be taped for an eventual public television broadcast. Art party? Social experiment? Makeshift cabinet of curiosities? Those interested in history, the arts, popular culture, underground culture, Americana, ephemera, antiques, sociology, esoterica and the exotic are in for a treat!
